Berlin’s openly gay Mayor Klaus Wowereit has extended the Pope an official welcome for his visit next month, but said he could understand those planning to protest against the papal visit.
Times are a changing. One by one gay men around the world are standing in their truth and rising to the occasion. Who would have thought it? Some still remember how unsafe it was to be openly gay let alone in Germany during the World War II era. Well fast forward 2011 Berlin Germany has a gay mayor now and he's welcoming the pope for a visit.
